At certain fortuitous moments in our careers, we are blessed with the chance to work with a leader who is competent, generous with his wisdom, and unafraid to get his hands dirty. The lessons you learn from such a leader will surely follow you throughout the rest of your career.

For me, Mike is that leader and mentor. During his time as my supervisor, Mike was always intuitive and articulate enough to tease out the different areas of improvement I needed to focus on in my work. Yet he is also kind and empathetic, taking the time to engage with me and provide guidance in areas outside of my work-life. 

It is rare for employees and their supervisors to develop personal relationships outside of their professional ones, and even more uncommon for an employee to write a testimonial for his ex-supervisor. I hope that this is proof enough of the impact that Mike has had in my life, both professionally and personally. And it is my hope that Mike will have the chance to have the same kind of impact in your life too.
